Artists Cut & Paste Unique Creations
Where’s the party at? The Cut & Paste art show, motherfuckers! This Wednesday, March 1st, from 5PM-2AM, Assembly will be puttin’ on an art show at Screamers in Downtown Orlando. What’s special about it? Well, all of the art is to be composed using paper as the primary medium. Assembly says the reason for this is “paper as a medium allows artists who normally wouldn't have the opportunity to sculpt due to cost and weight constraints of clay, stone, and metal a means of experimenting with form.” So it ain’t the same shit you see all the time. Plus, it’ll be Charles McCurry's first art show. He’s gonna be a star. So come wiggle your butt on Downtown and check this shit out. They even have a bar and drink specials and free Sparks in case you can’t be social or appreciate new, interesting, or possibly shitty art without being relatively inebriated. killerPOP vs. Charles McCurry: kP: What are your favorite mediums to work with? CM: Things that are easily accessible and cheap. Like granite. kP: How long have you been seriously focusing on art? CM: 9 months kP: What’s it like to have your work about to be in an art show? CM: Nerve racking. I’m curious if people will enjoy it. I’m nervous. kP: Do you like hot dogs? CM: Hot dogs? With cheese? kP: Sure. CM: No. kP: Does your work remind you of any other artists’? CM: I’m not really sure. But I’m sure it’s out there. Similar stuff. kP: Do you shave your chest? CM: No. I wish. I don’t have enough hair. kP: Why should people go to the show? CM: To see artwork of course…and buy me drinks. kP: What word do you want this interview to end with? CM: Pointless So strap on your checkered Vans and head down to 360 State Lane to party from 5 pm to 12 am with paper, alcohol, killerPOP, Charles, Ziegel, and a bunch of artist. I mean, shit, ain’t like you got anything better to do. copy by Matt Harrison |
